About

ABOUT US
By The Grace Ministry
By The Grace Ministry was founded by Pastor John Mamabolo and his wife Berrol Mamabolo. The co‑founders are the late Lazarus Maake, Tharios Mangena, and Hessie Mthombeni. The ministry began as an outreach in 2011, and in 2013 it was officially announced and held its first revival.
Pastor John began preaching at the age of 10, ministering in primary and high schools. In 1997, he started preaching in prisons under the mentorship of his father and spiritual father, the late Bishop Joseph Mamabolo.
In 1996, he began preaching in tents, and in 1997 the ministry called Jesus Is Passing was formed at Ga‑Sekgopo. Pastor John, Apostle Ramolesa, Pastor Isaac, Mr. Maponya (Isaac), and Pastor Moloto ministered together across many places. The ministry later dissolved due to separation, but Pastor John continued preaching because of the calling of God upon his life.
In 2009, another ministry was formed called God Is Alive Ministry, led by Pastor John, Pastor Isaac, and three others. This ministry also ended due to distance and communication challenges, but God was preparing Pastor John for a greater mission.
In 2010, Pastor John married his wife Berrol, who fully supported the vision and calling upon his life. After marriage, they moved from Peniel Praise Center International to Reform Fellowship Church. Upon arriving there, the calling on Pastor John grew even stronger.
In 2011, they began preaching in the streets and in homes, sharing the message of Jesus Christ. This is when By The Grace Ministry was birthed, with the early team including the late Lazarus Maake, Tharios Mangena, Hessie Mthombeni, and Moses Raolane.
In 2013, the ministry hosted its first revival at Reform Fellowship Church titled “You Shall Receive Power When the Holy Spirit Comes.”
In March 2014, By The Grace Ministry was officially registered with CIPRO and the Department of Social Development.
In June 2014, the ministry hosted its first major crusade, “Thy Kingdom Come,” at Kanana Sports Ground in Tembisa, where the ministry was officially launched.
In December 2014, the second crusade, “In The Presence of God,” was held, marking another milestone in the ministry’s journey.

Today
By The Grace Ministry continues to stand as a testimony of God’s grace, power, and faithfulness — restoring lives, delivering the oppressed, and healing the broken through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Vision and Mission

BY THE GRACE MINISTRY
“Restoration, Deliverance and Healing”

VISION
To see all people respond to the call of salvation, be set free from the works of the devil, and experience the grace, favour, love, and power of God in their lives.
We desire to see individuals restored, healed, delivered, and walking in the perfect will of God for their lives.
Our vision is rooted in 2 Corinthians 12:9:
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”
Without the grace of God, we can do nothing — we need His grace to live.

MISSION
To preach and announce the life‑changing gospel that leads to the forgiveness of sins, transformation of lives, and the revelation of God’s grace.
Our mission is to:
  • Proclaim salvation through Jesus Christ
  • Lead people into repentance and a restored relationship with God
  • Equip believers to understand God’s will for their lives
  • Minister healing, deliverance, and spiritual restoration
  • Demonstrate the power, love, and favour of God
  • Build a people strengthened by grace and grounded in truth

STATEMENT OF FAITH
By the Grace Ministry

1. GOD ALMIGHTY
We believe in one God — Yahweh, Elohim — who exists eternally in three persons:
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

2. REDEMPTION THROUGH JESUS CHRIST
We believe:
  • Jesus Christ is the Savior of the soul and Redeemer of sinners
  • Salvation comes through faith in Him alone
  • Jesus is the only mediator between God and man
  • He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died a substitutionary death, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to the Father, and will return in power and glory
Scriptures: Matt 20:28, Mark 10:45, 1 Peter 1:18–19, Titus 2:14, Gal 4:4–5

3. THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God.
Nothing should be added to it or taken away from it.
Scriptures: Rom 6:17, Matt 21:42, John 10:35, 2 Peter 1:20

4. THE GREAT COMMISSION
We believe the Word of God is profitable for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness.
The church is commanded to preach the gospel to all nations and all people.
Scripture: Matt 28:16–20

5. WATER BAPTISM
We believe in water baptism by immersion as a symbol of new birth and identification with Christ.
Scripture: Matt 28:19

6. BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, empowering believers for service and releasing the supernatural gifts of the Spirit.
We affirm the fivefold ministry: Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher.
Scripture: Matt 3:11

7. REPENTANCE
We believe repentance is essential for salvation.
Righteousness comes through faith in Jesus Christ, and without holiness no one will see God.
Scriptures: Matt 3, 2 Cor 7:1, Matt 4:17, Acts 20:21, Mark 1:15

8. RESURRECTION
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost:
  • The saved to eternal life
  • The lost to eternal separation from God
Scripture: Acts 2:24
